Well it's still raining but we're still loving it. I'll mention that while we're here, every camper goes through the ropes course, the horses, and the go-carts. Then we also ride mountain bikes, climb the rock wall tower, zipline, blob, slide, super-swing, play volleyball and basketball, etc. etc. So there's always a lot going on. But the cooleset part of the week for a lot of people started today. Camp seems to slow down a bit. There aren't as many events. We get a lot more time to hang out. In club we talked about the cross and it's meaning. Then we went out in a light rain and everyone sat in silence for 20 minutes. A lot of folks on our trip this year are really listening and dialing-in to the club talks. There have been lots of great questions and deep dicussion. There's a musician here this week, Ryan Long, and he did a concert last night that was AWESOME. We're all hoping the rain will stop, but it sure doesn't seem to be slowing anybody down.

Day 4
today is a great day - let me see if i can put it all into words. In the morning we had field games which involve water balloons and flour bombs and relays and pulling tractors for time. We had ma really fun YL club in the afternoon followed by what we call the "tableau." We walk out of the club room and the whole summer staff and work crew have created a scene frozen in time from the 1800's...and they are the people in the scene. A shotgun sounds and they spring to life in this really cool panorama. Seriously, people are getting married, people are prizefighting, people are in shootouts or in school, indians burn down a wagon train - it's hilarious. Then we all go back and get dressed in country old timey stuff, eat a fried feast (fried chicken, fried okra, fried pickles...) go in and watch the "opera" where all the characters in program we've seen all week make us laugh, head out to a county fair complete with all the old time classic fair games, follow that with a square dance and then a dance dance and end it with ice cream. Nice. Big day.

Day 3
Today was an awesome day. This morning we had an all camp swim olympics. Camp divided into 4 teams and competed in events like dive for pain, highest blob, lily pad jousting, shamu relay, etc. The "Sunburned Sallys" (with Hancock and EJ's cabins) won by a landslide. It's raining off and on but that hasn't slowed things down a bit. Everyone is doing great and having a good time. At club David talked a lot about the pain of life and our kids really engaged in some of the tougher things they deal with. It's been really great - enjoy the pics!
